Identity security is a foundational pillar to ensuring enterprise security. Organizations need an effective way to manage identities and access to enable employees, partners, and customers to be productive, but they need to ensure security by not overprovisioning access or leaving themselves open to attacks.
However, identity security complexity has rapidly grown in recent years as enterprises engage more third parties (more identities) and use more workloads (non-human or machine identities) across computing environments, including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure. As enterprises grow, identity and security teams need to manage more identities across an expanding attack surface to support business growth.
Using an identity security platform can enable teams to solve multiple challenges by securing the proliferation of diverse identities while simplifying identity security. This paper describes what organizations should look for in a unified identity security platform to improve security and productivity across the variety of identities, applications, and types of data for effective enterprise security.
